Cocktails

This was a really fun commission to do!  I have always enjoyed drawing food packaging and bottles from observation, and I love all of the different colours and typefaces used on the labels and packets.  I have found that this is a really good way to study a wide variety of fonts, and experiment with drawing my own.  

This commission came from someone seeing my food recipe illustrations and wanting me to adapt them into various cocktails that they enjoy.  I decided to use a more controlled type of line for this brief as I believe that cocktails are elegant and delicate things, and there are so many different things to remember when making them: certain shaped glasses used for different cocktails, a whole range of garnishes to accompany specific drinks, certain amounts of ice...  this brief has made me have a newfound awe for bartenders!
